How we put a review together.

This page describes the rules a Jackpot Royalty review follows. It is here so readers and operators can both check what we did and call us out if we missed something.

Shortlist

Each edition we shortlist operators with a current UK Gambling Commission licence. Brands without a live UK licence are not eligible regardless of commercial appeal.

The nine criteria

1. Licensing and ownership. Confirmed against the public Gambling Commission register.
2. Lobby and search. Filters, provider attribution, search behaviour, load time.
3. Game variety. Slots, live dealer, table games, bingo and any in-house format.
4. Offer clarity. Whether the bonus terms read clearly from the offer page itself.
5. Payments. UK debit cards, e-wallets, withdrawal options, written timeframes.
6. Mobile. Behaviour on a mid-range Android handset and an iPad in portrait and landscape.
7. Customer service. A real chat exchange about something specific, with response time logged.
8. Safer-gambling tools. Whether limits and self-exclusion sit within two clicks of the account menu.
9. Terms transparency. Whether the operator’s full terms read as a coherent document or a copy-paste pile.

Scoring

Each criterion is rated against a public rubric. The published score is a weighted average rounded to one decimal. Scores are editorial opinions, not regulatory ratings, and they will move between editions when the live product changes.

Testing

For each review we open the lobby in two browsers, deposit a small amount with a UK debit card, play through at least one full session, request a withdrawal, and read the live terms top to bottom. Notes are timestamped and kept on file.

Editing

A second editor reads every draft against the live site before publication. Material changes after publication trigger a re-review and a dated note at the foot of the review.

Conflicts of interest

Editors do not hold equity in any operator we review. Commercial relationships are limited to standard affiliate programmes, disclosed in full on the affiliate disclosure page.

Corrections

If you spot a factual mistake, please write to the editorial address on the contact page. We correct factual errors as quickly as we can verify them, and we leave a short note explaining what changed.
